Wraiths suck-literally. These ghostly monsters drain the life out of people, leaving their bodies as empty husks without a spirit. Wraiths float around the world, driven by a constant craving for human souls. By just touching a living person, wraiths can rob victims of the force that gives them life; worse, when a wraith strikes, it sometimes condemns the victim to endless wandering as a new member of the wraith clan.
Dressed Up: Wraiths can appear in many forms. They usually look like ghosts with bony arms and legs, and often wear black, hooded cloaks. Sometimes, however, they appear as shapeless shadows or just dark figures hidden in the night.
No-See-'em: The skies will suddenly fill with dark clouds and a cold wind will blow when a wraith is about to become invisible.
Wraith Rage[]

Wraiths can appear almost anywhere and in any form.
According to ancient folklore, wraiths are the twisted souls of beings that were once human, but have been tortured by not being able to reach the spirit realm. These creatures have a constant hunger, and feed on the souls of the living. With a single touch, wraiths suck the life out of a victim and remove the soul from his or her body. When wraiths become extremely angry, they can unleash a devastating wave of energy and destroy entire villages with the power of their hate.
Wraith-Maker: Stories say that being killed by wraiths is extremely painful-and the fates of the victims get even worse. After a short time, people killed by these ghostly monsters might rise from the dead as wraiths themselves.
Spellbound: Because wraiths are ghosts, weapons pass right through their bodies. The only way to banish a wraith is with powerful spells or, in some stories, weapons that have been powered with magic.
Change for the Worst[]
Some think that wraiths were once kind spirits, watching over the land of the living and protecting people from harm like guardian angels. Later, the myth changed so that seeing one of these apparitions represented doom, signaling that a person was going to die; that is the same type of legend surrounding screaming banshees and the Grim Reaper, both of which are seen as signs of impending death.
